Jakarta, August 17, 2025 — Coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, MotionPay officially launched its QRCB (QR Cross-Border) feature, enabling users to conduct QRIS transactions in Japan.
The launch event was held following the Indonesian Independence Day flag-raising ceremony on August 17, 2025, at Bank Indonesia’s headquarters in Jakarta, with the participation of various other Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
Through the QRCB feature, MotionPay users can now conveniently make transactions in Japan simply by scanning QRIS codes, delivering a digital payment experience that is practical, secure, and fully integrated with global standards.

With QRIS now available in Japan, MotionPay users can enjoy greater convenience when making transactions abroad, without the need to carry cash or exchange foreign currency.”
The launch of this feature also marks an important milestone for MotionPay in strengthening its position as an innovative and inclusive digital financial services provider. With the growing acceptance of QRIS overseas, MotionPay is committed to further expanding its cross-border services to additional countries, delivering tangible benefits to the public and supporting the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy.
